Friends of Firefighters
Friends of Firefighters is a New York City not-for-profit organization that began as a community-based group in response to the events of September 11, 2001. Their preliminary efforts focused on providing immediate practical support to the firefighters and their families in the New York City area.
While the group's initial response revolved around the most critical needs of individuals affected by the events of 9/11, the mission of Friends of Firefighters has evolved and expanded in the years since. In addition to providing in-house services, Friends of Firefighters acts as a means of linking members of the firefighting community with other programs, making those programs more successful in reaching and helping those in need. Friends of Firefighters remains the only organization serving the firefighting community in this manner.
The organization offers confidential, individual, marriage, and family counseling through partnerships with established national and regional associations. Their resource center, located in the Red Hook neighborhood of Brooklyn, serves as a central meeting spot for firefighters to relax, receive counseling, exchange information and access a wide array of services specific to their needs.
F. Y. Eye is currently working with Friends of Firefighters on their first marketing initiatives as they've relied on word-of-mouth referrals since their inception in 2001. It is an exciting time for Friends of Firefighters as they're almost finished fully renovating their new location, a historic firehouse built in 1874 located in Red Hook, Brooklyn as well as an expanded effort to engage their community.
They are focused on providing their current clients with exceptional services and programs to ensure their confidence in themselves that then reflects in the incredible work they do to protect our city. Friends of Firefighters is looking to expand their client base with a general awareness campaign targeting all New York firefighters. In addition, Friends of Firefighters is embarking on a Sponsorship Drive to increase their donation base and meet the growing needs of the FDNY community.

Recently, FY Eye has been working closely with FoFF to explore innovative ways to educate the public of the great services they provide as well as bring in much needed funding to expand their programs.
We're currently focused on a pilot program utilizing digital screens and a call-to-action to give $10 via text message on mobile phones. This ad is placed throughout the Park Cast Network which reaches a hyper-target of affluent individuals.
