Greenmarket
Greenmarket promotes regional agriculture and ensures a continuing supply of fresh, local produce for New Yorkers. Greenmarket has organized and managed open-air farmers markets in NYC since 1976. Greenmarket supports farmers and preserves farmland for the future by providing regional small family farmers with opportunities to sell their fruits, vegetables and other farm products to New Yorkers.
FY Eye has been working closely with Greenmarket to promote several of their programs.
The first campaign, launched in early October 2009, targeted EBT users informing and encouraging them to utilize their food stamps at farmers markets for healthy, fresh produce. FY Eye facilitated in the placement of approximately 1,500 interior bus cards placed on NYC public buses throughout Manhattan, the Bronx, Queens and Brooklyn. In addition, FY Eye helped Greenmarket place display ads in community newspapers in key target areas in which the EBT Food Stamp program was being underutilized within specific farmers markets.
