The New York Public Library
The New York Public Library is visited and used annually by more than 15 million people. There are 1.86 million cardholders. The vast collections, impressive to begin with, continue to expand at the rate of approximately 10,000 items per week in dozens of languages.
The branch system has grown to include 87 libraries, with collections totaling 6.6 million items. In 1995, The New York Public Library celebrated the centennial of its founding. Exhibitions and public programs dramatized The New York Public Library's history and honored the freedom of ideas for which the Library has always stood.
The community information display screens are located in five hub libraries. The screens provide visitors with current information on events happening in the library, their communities as well as valuable information on nonprofit and city services that are beneficial to visitors and their families.
