The Yonkers Public Library, established in 1893 to serve the City of Yonkers, is committed to serving the community and fostering the personal growth of all its citizens. It encourages a love of reading among children, and supports people of all ages in pursuits involving lifelong learning and the enrichment of leisure time. The Library seeks to address the needs and interests of its patrons by providing varied information resources, popular materials, up-to-date technology, expert guidance and a well-rounded program of community activities.

Equipment Specifications
- Screens: Both locations showcase two high definition 42” LG Flatron LCD monitors on display. Each wide-screened (6 x 9) monitor is wall mounted.
- Orientation: Vertical, 4:3 Ratio.
- Resolution: 1366 x 768, content should be 640 x 480 to 1024 x 768; all materials will be scaled to fit.
- HDTV: No.
- Types of files accepted: This is a bitmap based system that accepts JPEG’s and BMPs. PowerPoints can also be accepted. Also accepting video files such as avi, mpeg and wmv.
- Amount of time the ad will be seen on the screen: Messages are seen for 15 seconds and cycled throughout the system two at a time. There are usually 60 messages in a cycle, so it is estimated that a single message will appear approximately 120 times per hour.
- Location of the screens:
- Riverfront Library: Screen 1 is located at the book check out/front desk, Screen 2 is located in the main reading room.
- Grinton I. Will Branch: Screen 1 is located at the front desk to the right of check out and Screen 2 is located near the activities room.
- Other details: The screens are split to show two images at once; the top half of the screen always displays library announcements and the bottom half is dedicated to PSA messages. A crawl strip is also visible on the bottom of the screen with headline news. Due to the vertical orientation of the screens, all messages must be formatted accordingly.
